De Dell™ Storage MD1400, MD1420 en MD3060e DAS-behuizingen (Direct Attached Storage) zijn ontworpen om serverstorage-uitbreiding te bieden voor 12 Gb/s SAS-omgevingen.

De oplossing is gebaseerd op ether het Dell PowerEdge R630 of R730 serverplatform voor gebruiksgemak, compatibiliteit en schaalbaarheid.
Deze DSMS-systemen kunnen worden gekoppeld aan DSMS-storagebehuizingen DSMS 1400/1420/3060e voor uitbreidbaarheid van de storage.

  • De MD1400 is een standaard rackbehuizing met 12 schijven en een 2U-rackbehuizing. Het kan opschalen tot 96 LFF (Large Form Factor) harde schijven in 16U met acht MD1400-behuizingen die werken als een JBOD "just a bunch of disks"-arrays.
  • De MD1420 is een 24 Small Form Factor (SFF) schijf, 2U standaard rackbehuizing. Het kan opschalen tot 192 harde schijven in 16U met acht MD1400-behuizingen die werken als een JBOD "just a bunch of disks"-arrays.
  • De MD3060e-behuizing is een server-attached storagebehuizing met hoge dichtheid voor bulkopslag. Het is een 4U-behuizing voor 60 schijven, maakt gebruik van een SAS 2.0-aansluiting van 6 GB en ondersteunt maximaal 240 schijven.
