Instructions
Changing the name of the switch :
Step 1. Enter the configuration mode :
switch# configure terminalStep 2. Use the command #switchname (Changes or assigns switch name)
switch(config)# switchname new_nameStep 3. Exit the config mode:
switch(config)# exit
You can run the command "show switchname" to confirm if the name has been changed or not
NOTE: The no form of the command reverts the switch name to the default name.
switch(config)# no switchname
