Symptoms
A Pre-Upgrade Health Check displays a warning indicating that a custom configuration is in place.
A similar message can be observed when you log in to the service console using SSH.
Custom modification message example:
[2024-04-18] Custom Modification Applied.
Cause
PowerStoreOS 4.0 introduced a check for any custom configurations applied to the system as part of previous Technical Support engagements.
While these modifications are rare, they must be considered during service engagements, upgrades, and so on.
Resolution
Contact Dell Technical Support or your Authorized Service Representative, and quote this knowledge base article ID, before running the upgrade.
