Instructions for Handling Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 End-of-Maintenance (EOM):
- Understand the Impact:
After June 30, 2024, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 no longer receives critical security updates (RHSA) or urgent issue fixes (RHBA). Review your systems to identify those running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and plan accordingly.
- Evaluate Upgrade Options:
Consider upgrading to a newer version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, such as version 8 or 9, to benefit from the latest features, security patches, and compliance updates.
- Consider Extended Lifecycle Support (ELS):
If upgrading immediately is not possible, you can subscribe to ELS for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9. This offers up to four additional years of security and critical issue fixes, until June 30, 2028.
- Plan Your Migration from CentOS 7:
CentOS 7 reached EOL on June 30, 2024. To maintain security and support, migrate to Red Hat Enterprise Linux or another supported Linux distribution.
