La funzione MPIO di Microsoft Windows deve essere installata o abilitata prima di utilizzare uno dei metodi mostrati di seguito.
È necessario aggiungere solo le voci appropriate per il sistema in uso.

Utilizzo dell'applet del pannello di controllo MPIO

  1. Aprire l'applet Pannello di controllo MPIO.
  2. Passare alla scheda MPIO-ed Devices che mostra gli ID hardware dei dispositivi gestiti da MPIO ogni volta che sono presenti.
  3. Verificare se sono presenti i tipi di array del vendor EMC, DGC, COMPELNT o Dell, poiché viene aggiunto l'elenco seguente con i tipi di disco corrispondenti.
  4. In caso contrario, cliccare su Add e aggiungere il tipo di array sotto il dispositivo DGC seguito da cinque spazi per un totale di otto caratteri, spazi vuoti inclusi. Quindi, sotto l'ID hardware, aggiungere l'hardware. Esempio: RAID 10 o RAID 5 o VRAID seguito da spazi vuoti per un totale di 16 caratteri. Quindi, fare clic su OK e riavviare il server.
  5. Di seguito sono riportati alcuni esempi per aggiungere tali dispositivi in MPIO nel formato Vendor 8 e Product 16: 
    Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then RAID 0 followed by 10 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then RAID 1 followed by 10 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then RAID 3 followed by 10 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then RAID 10 followed by 9 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then RAID 5 followed by 10 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then VRAID followed by 11 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then DISK followed by 12 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DGC followed by 5 blank spaces, then VNX followed by 13 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add EMC followed by 5 blank spaces, then Celerra followed by 9 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add EMC followed by 5 blank spaces, then VPLEX followed by 11 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add EMC followed by 5 blank spaces, then Invista followed by 9 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add EMC followed by 5 blank spaces, then SYMMETRIX followed by 7 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add XtremIO followed by 1 blank space, then XtremApp followed by 8 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add COMPELNT followed by 0 blank spaces, then Compellent followed by 6 blank spaces. Click OK.
Add DellEMC followed by 1 blank space, then by PowerStore followed by 6 blank spaces. Click OK.
  6. Riavviare il server dopo aver aggiunto gli ID dei dispositivi pertinenti.

Utilizzo di MPCLAIM
Aprire un prompt dei comandi con privilegi elevati (Esegui come amministratore).

Nota: La stringa tra virgolette deve essere composta da due stringhe di lunghezza specifica.

La parte destra dell'ID vendor viene riempita di spazi fino a otto caratteri, seguita immediatamente dalla destra dell'ID prodotto riempita di spazi fino a una lunghezza di 16 caratteri, per un totale di 24 caratteri.

Uso di PowerShell
L'alternativa a quanto sopra consiste nell'utilizzare i comandi PowerShell per aggiungere gli ID dispositivo.
Aprire una finestra di PowerShell con privilegi elevati (Esegui come amministratore).
Non è necessario riempire con spazi VendorID e ProductID quando si utilizzano i comandi PowerShell.
