Sorunu düzgün bir şekilde gidermek için mühendislik ürününe özel bir derleme kullanıldı.

PowerPath, bir yol talep etmek için SCSI sorgulama komutunu kullanır. Mühendislik test paketi günlüklerinden, sorgulama komutlarının başlangıçta HOST_RETRY (0x12) veya HOST_NO_CONNECT (0x1) hatalarla başarısız olduğunu gözlemleyebiliriz. Ancak daha sonra ESXi aygıtı tekrar sunduğunda, PowerPath'in aygıtı talep etmesiyle sonuçlanan başarılı oldular (Mühendislik derlemesi olmadan bu ikinci dizi görülmez)

PowerPath, HOST_RETRY hatalarına yanıt olarak, sorgulama komutunu 0,1 saniyelik dahili bir sürede birden çok kez yeniden denedi. Ancak yine de günlüklerden görülebileceği üzere ana bilgisayar bağdaştırıcısı komutu başarısız oldu.
