Symptoms

Attempting PowerPath management appliance upgrade.

Environment

DELL EMC SW: PowerPath Management appliance (any release)
VMware software : ESXi (any release)
 

Issue

When attempting to upgrade the PowerPath Management Appliance from any release to a desirable release the attempt fails with the following errors:

Cause

The upgrade package was copied under the /tmp directory used while upgrading. As a consequence, the upgrade package couldn't be reached to execute, causing the error.

Resolution

Be sure that the upgrade package is not copied under  /tmp but ,for example, in the /home directory
