VxRail: Een vSAN Witness apparaat handmatig bijwerken met behulp van CLI

Instructions

Procedure:

  1. Download de samengestelde bundel voor de VxRail upgrade die overeenkomt met de VxRail upgradecode. Pak de ESXi-update uit depot.zip in de map VxRail Update Composite bundles.

  1. De ESXi-update uploaden depot.zip Van samengestelde upgradebundel naar /scratch van witness met behulp van SFTP.
  2. Plaats de Witness in de onderhoudsmodus.
  3. SSH naar het Witness-apparaat
  4. Haal beschikbare profielen op bij geüpload .depot.zip met de opdracht:
esxcli software sources profile list --depot='path/to/esxi/.zip'

  1. Het no-tools-profiel is vereist omdat het minder ruimte in beslag neemt, en VMtools is niet vereist op een witness-apparaat omdat het geen VM's kan uitvoeren.
  2. Opdracht uitvoeren :
esxcli software profile update -p 'name of image profile' --depot='path/to/esxi/.zip'

Belangrijke opmerking:
  • Start de witness opnieuw op.
  • De geüploade upgrade verwijderen depot.zip van de /scratch verdelen.
rm path/to/esxi/.zip

(note scratch is a symlink to a UUID, your scratch partition UUID is different from the example)
  • Nadat de witness weer is opgestart in de onderhoudsmodus, controleert u of de ESXi-build van de witness de gewenste bijgewerkte ESXi-buildversie weergeeft. Controleer of de build hetzelfde is als de VxRail-hosts of de ESXi-versie van de VxRail-upgradecode.
