Symptoms

avvcbimage FATAL : [IMG0003] The VMX '[datastore] / .vmx' could not be snapshot. (Log #2) 
avvcbimage Error : [IMG0009] Create Snapshot: snapshot creation or pre/post snapshot script failed. (Log #2)

Cause

有一個 vSphere 參數可控制允許為特定虛擬機器建立的最大快照。
參數名稱是snapshot.maxSnapshot，並設定為 0 或更少的值，這表示不允許建立足夠的快照。

Resolution

映射備份程式需要暫時建立虛擬機器快照。快照控制是由 VMware vCenter 驅動。因此，我們需要從vCenter 端變更快照參數值。

若要解決此問題，請依照以下指示操作：

  1. 登入 vCenter
  2. 關閉虛擬機器的電源。
  3. 以滑鼠右鍵按一下 Web 用戶端中的虛擬機器，然後按一下「編輯設定」。
  4. 按一下「VM Options」卷標，在「進階」底下選取「編輯組態」選項。
  5. 搜尋名為snapshot.maxSnapshots 的字串名稱，並增加其值。
  6. 按一下「OK」以儲存變更。
  7. 開啟虛擬機器電源並測試備份
警示：請僅在VMware 技術支援部門的指導下修改snapshot.maxSnapshots參數。不支援增加超過最大值 32 的允許快照數目。
