Use this procedure to reset users' lost passwords for the management VMs.
Otherwise, changing the password should be done from the PowerFlex Manager Platform (PFMP)

Steps
If you lose the password on a storage VM (SVM), start up in recovery mode to reset it.
- Log in to PowerFlex Manager.
- Select the SVM, and click Enter Maintenance Mode.
- Select Protected, and click Enter Maintenance Mode.
- Log in to VMware vCenter. Select the cluster and click Related Objects > Virtual Machines > Open Console.
- Restart the SVM.
- Enter ESC during restart and click OK to enter text mode.
NOTE: You might have to hold down the ESC key.
- Type E to edit the password.
- Select the second line (starts with kernel /boot…) and type E.
- Append init=/bin/bash to the end of the line.
- Select B to restart in recovery mode.
- After the PowerFlex node restarts, type passwd, and enter a new password.
- Type reboot, and allow the SVM to restart using the new password.
