Symptoms

  • Se si tenta di avviare NetWorker Remote Exec (nsrexecd) genera il seguente errore:

    "The NetWorker Remote Exec Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."

  • La colonna daemon.raw registro (che si trova all'indirizzo C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\nsr\logs\ su Windows o /nsr/logs/ su Linux) contiene una voce simile a
RAP critical Attributes 'name' or 'my hostname' of the nsrla resource do not resolve to the machine's hostname 'clientname.domain.com'. To correct the error, it may be necessary to delete the NSRLA database.

Cause

Il sistema client è stato rinominato, ma il database NSRLA contiene ancora il nome host precedente. Questa mancata corrispondenza impedisce il nsrexecd l'inizializzazione corretta del servizio. 

Resolution

  1. Arrestare tutti i servizi NetWorker sul client.
  2. Rinominare la directory del database NSRLA:
    • Windows:
      Ridenominazione C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\nsr\res\nsrladb su nsrladb_old
    • Linux:
      Ridenominazione /nsr/res/nsrladb su nsrladb_old
  3. Riavviare i servizi di NetWorker.
    Viene generato un nuovo database NSRLA con il nome host corretto.
