Dell Unity: Cannot create NTP servers. At least one of the specified NTP servers is not working (Dell Correctable)

Symptoms


- Failed to add NTP server on Unity:
spb:/cores/service/user# uemcli -u admin -p xxxxxx /net/ntp/server create -server 1xx.1x.x.x -force allowReboot
Storage system address: 127.0.0.1
Storage system port: 443
HTTPS connection
  
Operation failed. Error code: 0x6000840
Cannot create NTP servers. At least one of the specified NTP servers is not working. (Error Code:0x6000840)
- There is no network issue between Unity management Interface and NTP server.
- NTP server works fine.

Cause

While adding an NTP server to Unity, a script is invoked to validate the availability of the NTP server. Under certain conditions this script may fail to validate the NTP server.

Resolution

Workaround: 
A workaround exists for this issue. Contact Dell Technical Support or your authorized service provider and reference this article.

Fix:
A fix is being developed and will be made available in a future code release.
