Alienware Area-51 Laptop Does Not Respond when Plugging or Unplugging External Monitors

Symptoms
The laptop may not respond temporarily if discrete card mode is enabled and the Alienware Area-51 laptop is using an external monitor. Discrete card mode stops the laptop from responding as the status of the external monitor changes.
The laptop can stop responding for between 5 and 30 seconds after carrying out one of the following actions:
- Plug or unplug the monitors video cable while discrete card mode is enabled on the laptop
- Turn the monitor on or off while discrete card mode is enabled on the laptop

What is discrete card mode?
Discrete card mode is also known as Discrete Graphics Processing Unit (dGPU) mode. It means that the dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) that is bought with the laptop is in use. This GPU in being used in preference to using the integrated graphics that is part of the laptops Central Processing Unit (CPU).
Setting GPU only in the NVIDIA control panel and disabling Hybrid mode in the BIOS enables the Discrete card mode.
Cause
The NVIDIA graphics driver is having compatibility problems with the Windows operating system.
Resolution
The laptop automatically recovers within 5 to 30 seconds without any external action. However, NVIDIAs new graphics driver resolves this problem.

- Connect the AC adapter.
Updating the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, 5070, 5070 Ti, 5080, and 5090 Graphics Driver to version 32.0.15.9202, A01 or later on the laptop resolves the issue.
