Symptoms

Dell laptop with a Qualcomm processor may be unable to switch between the internal and external display. The issue occurs when booting to the BIOS or Boot Menu. The display does not automatically switch to an external monitor when closing the lid.

Affected Platforms:

Cause

The runtime lid status change to switch display in BIOS or Boot Menu is not supported in this generation.

Resolution

This is working as expected. Manually switch between the internal and the external display by pressing the Fn + F8 key in the BIOS or Boot Menu.
