Instructions

When creating local replication, there is no requirement to configure replication interfaces or connections.
  1. Double-click the block LUN that you want to create local replication.
  2. Click the Replication tab.
  3. Click the Configured Replication button.
  4. For Replication Mode, choose either Asynchronous or Manual (Synchronous cannot be used for local replication).
    • For Asynchronous mode, enter the RPO (how often to sync with the destination); default is every 60 minutes.
  5. For Replicate To, choose Local.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter the name that you want for the destination LUN.
  8. Choose which pool you want destination LUN to be in.
  9. Choose whether to use compression or not. Choose a tiering policy. Click Next.
  10. Verify the summary and click Finish.

Additional Information

Replication on datastores has to be done at the time of the datastore creation.

For file replication, create the replication on the NAS Server instead of the individual file systems. Creating replication on the NAS servers automatically creates matching replication sessions on each file system on that NAS server. Once replication finishes, file systems that are not wanted can be deleted.
