Die zEDC-Funktion ist für DASD-Subsysteme transparent. Es gab keine Änderungen an der Controller-Spezifikation 2107 in Bezug auf diese Funktion. Es wird nur in den Hostanwendungen implementiert und Zugriffsmethoden, die es ausnutzen, geben Standard-I/O aus.
