Symptoms
Customer migrates db2 server from one Avamar server to another Avamar server and db2 backups are still running to previous server location.
Cause
The db2vend process which loads the avamar library and db2 flags file does not dynamically update the backup server location. In this situation it was still pointing to the previous avamar server.
Resolution
Once the customer has completed the changes to the avamar flags file, the db2vend process needs to be terminated.
The db2vend can be safely terminated using the following process
ps -ef|grep db2vend |grep -v grep
kill -15 <pid_of_each_db2vend_found>
Note on the db2vend process will restart after the next backup of db2 is triggered (either archive or full database)
