PowerFlex Failed to add Standby MDM
Summary: ScaleIO: Adding standby MDM failed with Error: MDM failed command. Status: MDM is already attached to this MDM cluster as standby.

Symptoms
Customer adds standby MDM and removes it and again tried to add it, which failed with the below error.
scli --add_standby_mdm --new_mdm_ip 10.2.40.18,10.2.42.18 --mdm_role tb --new_mdm_management_ip 10.2.10.18 --new_mdm_name tb008 Error: MDM failed command. Status: MDM is already attached to this MDM cluster as standby
Cause
traces of the last Repository database.
Resolution
A forceful operation must be used in order to remove traces of the last Repository database.
Two Options:
1) Remove MDM Package and install.
2) Use force_clean" flag
scli --add_standby_mdm --new_mdm_ip <> --mdm_role tb --force_clean You are about to clear previous configuration on this MDM. Press 'y' (Enter y) Successfully added a standby MDM. Object ID XXXXXXXXX
