PowerStore: Filesystem Space Alert 0x01300803

Symptoms

Customer may receive the Filesystem Space Alert 0x01300803 like:

Cause

Filesystem space alert is the alert SDNAS is sending to Control Path (CP) and there are four types of Events:  

FS_SPACE_OK: On create of a new FS (when used capacity is default 1.5G)
FS_SPACE_INFO: By default, this threshold is deactivated (set to zero) when the user has configured it to other than zero and it is breached.
FS_SPACE_HIGH: Used capacity greater than 75% and less than 95%
FS_SPACE_WARNING: used capacity greater than 95% 

 

On PowerStore systems, we generate two types of alerts for FS_SPACE_HIGH and FS_SPACE_WARNING.

 

For PowerStoreOS 3.2.X, FS_SPACE_HIGH will generate the Info Level Alert and FS_SPACE_WARNING will generate the Minor Level Alert:

For PowerStoreOS 3.5.X and 3.6.X, the FS_SPACE_WARNING will generate the Minor Level Alert:

For PowerStoreOS 4.X (https://dl.dell.com/content/manual39097742-dell-powerstore-alerts-and-events-reference-guide.pdf?language=en-us), FS_SPACE_WARNING will generate the Major Level Alert:

Resolution

Provision additional storage to the storage resource, or balance data usage with other storage resources on the system.
