Performing a factory reset (NVRAM) on S3840cdn and S3845cdn Dell Laser Printers will remove the following factory-installed applications:
  • Resetting the NVRAM ( Factory Defaults ) on the S3840cdn Dell Laser Printer will remove the factory installed application SharePoint.
  • Resetting the NVRAM ( Factory Defaults ) on the S3845cdn Dell Laser Printer will remove the factory installed applications Scan to Fax Server and SharePoint.
These applications can be reinstalled by following the instructions below.
  • Visit Dell Support.
  • You may enter the printers Service Tag or click "Choose from all products".
    • If using "Choose from all products" click on "Printers".
    • Next click on "Color Laser Printers".
    • Click on your model of printer listed as either "Dell Color Smart Printer S3840cdn" or "Dell Color Smart Multifunction Printer S3845cdn"
  • Once you have arrived to the Support Page for your model printer select "Drivers & Downloads".
  • Proceed to the "Embedded Solutions" and download the file.
  • You will need to have the printers IP Address available and follow the steps for the install.
    • Extract all files from the download and select the correct operating system.
    • Click LPRClint. The Weblet Installer should open for the next step.
    • Enter the printers IP Address and select the application you would like to install. Only one application can be uploaded at a time.
    • Select "Upload", there will be no response at this time on the printer showing upload status. The upload button will become "grayed" out signifying upload is in progress.
    • When installation is complete "Successfully Uploaded" will be displayed.
  • The installed application should now be listed and useable on the printer home screen.
