Cause

A stale net device entry can occur after multiple mapping and unmapping of FMN IPs, or if the management network VLAN ID is changed. The stale net device entry does not allow the mapping of FMN IPs to the FMN.

Example scenario:
The Initial Configuration Wizard (ICW) was performed on PowerStoreOS 3.5.0, or later, using untagged VLAN (0) for the management network, and the File Mobility Network was created, with FMN IPs mapped.
The FMN IPs were later unmapped, and the FMN deleted, resulting in stale entries for the FMN net device eth_nmn0.
Also, the management network was reconfigured from an untagged VLAN to a tagged VLAN ID, and the FMN was re-created.
Mapping the FMN IPs fails with the error message indicated above.

The file mobility network is a pre-requisite infrastructure needed for exchange of control traffic between file clusters for replication and file import environments. The FMN network communicates only through the PowerStore management network and must reside on the same subnet as the management network.
