Encrypting File System (EFS) is supported with Dell Unity. EFS is a user-based encryption control technique that enables control over who can access files. The typical method of using EFS is to perform encryption at the folder level. This ensures that all files added to the encrypted folder are automatically encrypted.

Any host-based encryption is supported however Dell is not responsible for lost encryption keys or with data recovery beyond ensuring the storage is online and available.

Dell provides array-based encryption D@RE.
