Symptoms

Il backup dell'immagine VMware ha esito negativo per la Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) con errore <avvcbimage 0000>: [IMG0009] Create Snapshot: creazione di snapshot o script di snapshot pre/post non riuscito.

Gli errori in /usr/local/avamarclient/var/vmimagew.log sono i seguenti: 
avvcbimage FATAL <0000>: [IMG0002] The datastore information from VMX '[3PAR11_CITRIX02] Virtualmachine/Virtualmachine.vmx' will not permit a restore or backup.
avvcbimage Info <9772>: Starting graceful (staged) termination, Too many pre-existing snapshots on the datastore will not permit a restore or backup. (wrap-up stage)
avvcbimage Error <0000>: [IMG0009] Create Snapshot: snapshot creation or pre/post snapshot script failed.
avvcbimage Error <0000>: [IMG0009] Create Snapshot: snapshot creation/pre-script/post-script failed.

There are delta files exist in the VM files. This appears in /usr/local/avamarclient/var/vmimagew.log as below:

Cause

La funzione di controllo del datastore proxy è abilitata in avvcbimageAll.cmd. Questa funzione non è consigliata per i backup dell'immagine Avamar con VDI.

Per verificare che la funzione di cui sopra sia abilitata, eseguire il comando riportato di seguito sul server proxy:
  
cat /usr/local/avamarclient/var/avvcbimageAll.cmd | grep -i skip_datastore_check

If enabled, The output should be as below:
 

cat /usr/local/avamarclient/var/avvcbimageAll.cmd | grep -i skip_datastore_check
#--skip_datastore_check=false


 

Resolution

Abbiamo due possibili soluzioni per questo problema:
  • Modificare in avvcbimageAll.cmd sul server proxy. Rimuovere skip_datastore_check commento dalla riga e impostarne il valore su true.
cat /usr/local/avamarclient/var/avvcbimageAll.cmd | grep -i skip_datastore_check
--skip_datastore_check=true
  • OPPURE creare un dataset specifico per i backup VDI e aggiungere il flag seguente:
[avvcbimage]skip_datastore_check=true
