PowerEdge: How to Configure iDRAC Email Alerts
Summary: This step-by-step guide explains how to configure the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC network) settings and email configuration options for iDRAC9, iDRAC8, and iDRAC7.
Instructions
The Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller can provide email alert notifications in addition to IPMI alerts, SNMP traps, and other management notifications for system events. To enable email alerts from the Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC), the recommendation is to:
- Configure the iDRAC network settings to enable DNS registration
- Enable and configure email alerts
- Configure email settings and enable email destinations
This iDRAC email alert notification overview provides the typical configuration for an iDRAC7, iDRAC8 and iDRAC9. More configuration details, options, and descriptions for all iDRAC versions are documented in the iDRAC User's Guide. The steps differ depending on the iDRAC model that is in use. Click the appropriate iDRAC for more information.
