Påverkan

SDC fungerar inte.

Frånkoppling av SDC.

Förlorad åtkomst till en eller flera volymer.

Cause

Det fanns inte tillräckligt med sammanhängande minne för SDC.

Minnesfragmentering och lite tillgängligt minne på värden.

Eftersom Linux-datorn hade lite tillgängligt minne och på grund av minnesfragmentering fanns det inte tillräckligt med minne för SDC.

SDC använder stora chuckar för minnesallokering. I det här specifika fallet begärde SDC 36k (36288) minne som inte kan allokeras:

Från meddelandefilen: det fanns cirka 132 MB minne tillgängligt, men det fanns inte tillräckligt med stora bitar (32k, 64k, etc.) tillgängliga för minnesallokering, vilket resulterade i kernelpanik:

Det fanns 29631*4kb bitar tillgängliga plus 1755*8k bitar tillgängliga = 132MB (132564kb).

Obs! Det är osannolikt att det händer med en dator med få GB tillgängligt minne.

Resolution

Obs! En omstart av värden rensar minnesfragmenteringen tillfälligt tills nästa gång problemet uppstår.

Från SDC-sidan finns det ingen lösning eftersom beteendet är avsiktligt.

Från värdsidan:

1) Lägga till mer minne och se till att det tillgängliga minnet är tillräckligt högt.

2) I det här specifika fallet är SDC Linux-maskinerna virtuella datorer. Att flytta SDC till ESXi skulle lösa problemet eftersom ESXi-värdarna har få GB tillgängligt minne.

3) Kontrollera om programmet/tjänsterna som körs kan orsaka eller bidra till minnesfragmenteringen.
