Dell PowerEdge 15G servers may stop during POST after changing Secure Boot Policy

Symptoms
Updating the BIOS from the September block release for either Intel or AMD 15G servers could experience a stop issue during POST. This stop can occur after a user modifies the Secure Boot Policy from either Standard or Custom to VMware Boot or Linux Boot.

Cause
Root cause investigation is underway.
Resolution
Dell engineering advises the following workaround if a stop is encountered upon changing the Secure Boot Policy to VMware Boot or Linux Boot.
- Reboot the system.
- Warm or Cold reboot clears the stop issue.
- Reboot can be performed locally or by iDRAC remotely.
- Warm or Cold reboot clears the stop issue.
Note: Users that change the Secure Boot Policy back to Standard or Custom will not experience this issue.
