Server Infrastructure
Dell Data Protection Enterprise Edition requires Dell Security Management Server (formerly Dell Data Protection Server) for policy and key management.
Minimum Hardware Requirements
- Intel Pentium or AMD Processor
- 110 MB of free disk space
- 512 MB RAM
Network Requirements
Dell Data Protection Enterprise Edition requires network connectivity to the Dell Security Management Server.
- 8443 for activations and port
- 8000 for policy communication
- 8449 for certificate communication (server client installation only)
Dell Data Protection Enterprise Edition for Server requires direct communication to the Dell Security Management Server backend configuration.
If Dell Data Protection Enterprise Edition uses On-the-Box (OTB) entitlements (licenses), then cloud.dell.com over port 443 must be added to the allowlist.
External Media Requirements
Peripheral storage devices that are protected by Dell Encryption External Media require:
- 55 MB + free disk space equal to the largest file size
- Plug and Play identifier
- File System:

- exFAT
- NTFS
Software Requirements
