Dell EMC has decided on a new Monitor model number naming convention. There are several reasons for this:

  • It makes setup and identification for IT workers and systems easier
  • Dell can comply with regulatory certifications and other external requirements easier
  • Using the model number, you can quickly identify:
    • The size and resolution of the screen
    • The generation of technology
    • Call out the different features of the monitor
    • Where it ranks among other monitors
  • It is much easier to understand and use than older naming conventions:
    • You do not need to re-learn any of the standards involved
    • This will become more relevant over time as more monitors come out
