NetWorker: How to make an expired save set browsable

Instructions

The following procedure can be used to mark an expired (cE) save set to recoverable (cr). An expired save set is a save set that has passed its retention date; however, has not been removed by the NetWorker expiration task yet.
  1. Open an Admin command-prompt or root shell on the NetWorker server.
  2. Identify both the save set ID (SSID) and clone ID of the expired save set.

mminfo -q ssid=SSID -r cloneid

Example:

nve:~ # mminfo -avot -q ssid=2562924785 -r cloneid
 1740841201
  1. Using both the SSID and cloneid, mark the save set notrecyclcable

nsrmm -o notrecyclable -S SSID/cloneID

Example:

nve:~ # nsrmm -o notrecyclable -S 2562924785/1740841201
Mark save set copy 2562924785/1740841201 as not recyclable? y
nve:~ #
  1. Change the browse or retention time to the wanted date.

Retention time only:

nsrmm -S SSD/CloneID -e "MM/DD/YYYY"

Retention and browse time:

nsrmm -S SSD/CloneID -e "MM/DD/YYYY" -w "MM/DD/YYYY"

  1. Recover the client file index with:

nsrck -L7 

Or:

scanner -i -S SSID/CloneID Device_Name
