Customer Self-Replaceable Parts
Summary: Learn what a Customer Self-Replaceable (CSR) or Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) is and guidance on how to replace these parts.
Instructions
Some components are designed for simple removal and replacement; such parts are designated as Customer Self-Replaceable (CSR) parts or Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU).
When a Dell technician diagnoses that a CSR or CRU designated part is required, Dell ships the recommended part directly to the customer. This allows customers to swap out parts whenever it is most convenient for them.
