VMware 在兩種組態的兩種組態中，皆支援 EMC VPLEX 上的 Storage DRS 和儲存裝置 IO 控制，但有如下所述的限制。

VPLEX 本機：
在 VPLEX 本機組態中，VPLEX 磁碟區包含在站點/位置內。在此設定中，存在以下限制：

  • 支援儲存裝置 IO 控制
  • 支援儲存裝置 DRS
  • 資料存放區叢集只能由類似的磁碟區組成
  • 建議以手動模式執行儲存 DRS，以控制發生遷移的時間點

VPLEX Metro：
在 VPLEX Metro 組態中，VPLEX 磁碟區會分散在不同位置/站台上。在此設定中，存在以下限制：

  • 不支援儲存裝置 IO 控制
  • 只有在 IO 指標停用時，才支援儲存 DRS
  • 建議以手動模式執行儲存 DRS，以控制發生遷移的時間點
  • 每個位置/網站都應該有一個僅由 dvols （分散式 VPLEX 磁碟區） 組成的資料存放區叢集，這些磁碟區屬於相同的一致性群組，且網站偏向於該特定位置/網站。
  • 範例：網站 A 將有資料存放區叢集 A，其中包含偏向網站 A 的所有 dvol。
