Symptoms

嘗試將 Data Domain 系統加入 Active Directory 時，作業會失敗，並出現類似以下的錯誤：
messages.engineering:
ddsh: NOTICE: MSG-DDSH-00009: (tty=pts/2, session=13161) sysadmin: command "cifs set authentication active-directory abc.xyz.com <IP>"..

sms: NOTICE: Could not join domain abc.xyz.com

sms: NOTICE: cifs_join: result_status [3] result_string [Failed with internal error (no output)]

Cause

如果密碼包含多位元組字元，將 Data Domain 加入 Active Directory （AD） 會失敗。
 
  • Data Domain 支援 ASCII 和延伸 ASCII 字元，但不支援多位元組字元
  • 此限制僅適用於加入 AD 時使用的使用者密碼。
  • 當連線至 Data Domain 上的 CIFS 共用時，此原則不適用於使用者驗證。

Resolution

  • 此問題不會影響 Data Domain 上的資料存取。
  • 因應措施是在密碼中僅使用 ASCII 或延伸 ASCII 字元。
