Instructions

On the Unity platform we have the functionality to take SNAPs or point in time references of LUNs that are presented to the host. The snap has the same size as the production LUN. If the source LUN is increased in capacity the related snaps remain at the original capacity. Once the snap is  eventually refreshed it will contain meta data showing the new increased size, however all data that has been written to the LUNs expanded size will not be tracked. So snap will not contain valid information. When the host attempts to access the space that is presented, but not accessible it results in a host side message stating "The drive cannot find the sector requested".

Additional Information

To resolve the problem, please conduct the following actions:
  1.   Remove the snap from secondary host view
  2.   Delete the snap from the Unity array
  3.   Create a new snap of the production LUN
  4.   Represent the snap to the secondary host
