Symptoms

Management Console Server (MCS) è inattivo e non può essere avviato.

dpnctl start mcs

Se /tmp/dpnctl-mcs-start-output-nnnnn file non esiste più, il file mcserver.out Il file mostra anche l'errore:

Lo stato conferma che non è in esecuzione:

mcserver.sh --status

The Administrator Server is not running.
ERROR: Unable to connect to the Administrator Server when it's not running.
Start the Administrator Server first.

Cause

Le autorizzazioni nell' /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/mcserver.xml non sono corretti:

ls -thrl /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/
total 68K

Il file e il gruppo devono essere admin e le autorizzazioni devono essere 664:

-rw-rw-r--  1 admin admin 44K Jun 23 20:51 mcserver.xml

Resolution

1. Correggere le autorizzazioni e la proprietà in base alle esigenze:

chown admin:admin /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/mcserver.xml
  
chmod 664 /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/mcserver.xml
 

2. Verificare:

ls -thrl /usr/local/avamar/var/mc/server_data/prefs/
total 68K
-r-------- 1 admin admin 4.5K Jun 23 20:50 preferences.dtd
