Symptoms

If the error code 2000-0251 is reported every time you launch the ePSA diagnostics on a Dell personal computer, then follow the resolution steps listed below.

The error message indicates that the event log has not been checked lately. The event log provides various BIOS and Diagnostic events, which does not mean that there is an issue with your personal computer.

Cause

Cause information is not available.

Resolution

  1. Check the event log in the BIOS to note down and address any errors listed and then clear the system logs

Note: Not every Dell personal computer (for example - The Precision Rack 7910 workstation) contains an event log to check. If so, go to the next step.
  2. Update the BIOS to the Latest Version:

    1. Go to the Dell Support Site

    2. Enter your service tag or express service code to get drivers specific to how your system shipped

Alternatively you can choose your system from the product list to get a general list of drivers for that system

    3. Click the Drivers and Downloads drawer in the menu

    4. Ensure that you have the correct operating system set

    5. Select BIOS from the category drop-down

    6. Click the download link

    7. Once you double-click the install file - follow the on-screen instructions to update to this revision

Note: Keep in mind that this system restarts during the BIOS update process and have the system connected to uninterrupted power during this procedure.
  3. Repeat the PSA Diagnostics and see if the error repeats. Learn How to Run a Preboot Diagnostic Test on a Dell Computer.
