Network Disconnects Intermittently When Using Type-C USB to RJ45 Adapter on Latitude 5320

Resolution

Update to the latest version of the Realtek USB GBE Ethernet Controller Driver on the computer and follow the steps below to change the power settings. To download and install the driver, reference How to Download and Install Dell Drivers.

To change the power settings, go to Device Manager and select Network Adapter. Double-click Realtek USB Gbe Family Controller to open the Properties. Go to the Power Management tab and clear Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. Then go to Advanced tab and select Idle Power Saving under Property. Select Disabled under Value.

Note: When idle power saving is disabled, the laptop consumes power instead of saving power when the laptop is idle. It is advised to connect AC adapter to the laptop whenever in use or idle for good experience.
