Ohjaimen kääntäminen ja asentaminen lähdekoodin avulla

Tässä tietämyskannan artikkelissa käytetään esimerkkinä X710-verkkokorttia. Kaikki muut Linuxin lähdekoodit ovat samankaltaisia.

Asenna tarvittavat paketit käännettäväksi.

[root@rhel87 ~]# yum groupinstall "Development Tools"
[root@rhel87 ~]# yum install kernel-devel-$(uname -r)

1. Lataa ohjain Dellin tukiportaalista.
2. Pura lähdekoodi ja hae se.

3. Käännä ohjain.

3 a. Ongelma: Jos näit virheen seuraavasti suorittaessasi komentoa "make"

common.mk:82: *** Kernel header files not in any of the expected locations.
common.mk:83: *** Install the appropriate kernel development package, e.g.
common.mk:84: *** kernel-devel, for building kernel modules and try again.  Stop.

Varmista, että paketin kernel-devel-tiedostoon on asennettu sama ydinversio. (Ensimmäisessä vaiheessa)

[root@rhel87 ~]# yum install kernel-devel-$(uname -r)

3b. Ongelma: Testaa ohjain ennen asennusta. Jos näyttöön tulee seuraava virheilmoitus Required key not available, palvelimessa on käytössä Secure Boot, joka ei voi ladata itse käännettyä ohjainta. Voit käynnistää BIOSiin ja poistaa suojatun käynnistyksen käytöstä.

[root@rhel87 src]# modprobe -r i40e
[root@rhel87 src]# insmod ./i40e.ko
insmod: ERROR: could not insert module ./i40e.ko: Required key not available

4. Asenna ohjain tähän palvelimeen.

[root@rhel87 src]# make install

5. Käynnistä palvelin uudelleen. Uusi ohjain latautuu automaattisesti käynnistyksen jälkeen.


Lisää:
Jos haluat luoda RPM-moduulin tämän ohjaimen perusteella, jotta voit asentaa sen muihin palvelimiin (kohdepalvelimessa on oltava sama ydinversio), luo rpm seuraavalla komennolla.

Asenna kopioimalla RPM kohdepalvelimeen.
