This article provides the information about the Venue 11 Pro 5130 battery not being detected, will not charge or, will not power the system.

Battery Not Detected, Will Not Charge or, Will Not Power the System

Some Venue 11 Pro 5130 users have reported issues with the battery (Dell Part #T8NH4) on systems that are manufactured before January 2014. Symptoms include:

  • Battery may not show up in the BIOS at all, or it may show as defective.
  • Battery may show up in the BIOS and indicate a full charge or healthy, but the system will not operate without AC power.
  • Battery will not charge.

If a new or known good battery was installed into the system, the systems worked.

Pin Failure on The Battery

Investigation of the issue revealed contact failure on the battery as the cause for the failure.
