Symptômes

  • Data Domain (DD) CLI is in limited session.
  • User cannot log in to the DDSM.
    CLI commands reporting *** Error connecting to management service at "localhost"
  • System Management Services (SMS) appears to core dump and is not running.

Cause

Evaluation Elicense has expired.

SMS.log

NOTICE: Elicense refresh error: DD_DDBOOST license: **** Invalid locking id of DD_DDBOOST.. NOTICE: Elicense refresh error: DD_REPLICATION license: **** Invalid locking id of DD_REPLICATION..

 

Résolution

Perform the below steps:

  1. Get a new permanent or evaluation license file.

  2. Replace it with the file in /ddr/etc/licenses/license.lic

    # mv /ddr/etc/licenses/license.lic /ddr/etc/licenses/license.lic_orig.
# touch /ddr/etc/licenses/license.lic
# vi /ddr/etc/licenses/license.lic and paste the new license and save it.

  3. Restart SMS.

    # se sms restart

  4. View update elicense.

    # elicense show

    From /ddr/etc/license/license.lic

    INCREMENT DD_REPLICATION EMCLM 1 permanent uncounted \
         VENDOR_STRING=ENV=INT-PERM; HOSTID=ANY ISSUER=EMC \
         ISSUED=29-Nov-2012 NOTICE="ACTIVATED TO SiteID: 12345678" \
         SIGN="00D7 4498 C02F 4AD5 5EBA 0041 9637 6E00 9D33 2E6B 1705 \
         88E7 52xxxxx" 
Note: It says "permanent uncounted\for permanent license.
