Résumé: Backups of Virtual Machines (VM's) in containers that are nested two levels fail with "java.lang.StackOverflowError" as "Recursive Protection" was not enabled on the parent container.

Symptômes

Exception in thread "ScheduledGroupBackupRunnable" java.lang.StackOverflowError.
 

Unable to backup Virtual Machiness in containers.(BR>(When trying to initiate backup, it fails with no option to view details.)

The VM Container is nested under two layers.

Cause

The cause is a configuration error - Recursive Protection was not selected.

Résolution

  1. Delete backup policy.
  2. Re-create the backup policy, ensuring that Recursive Protection is marked under the Parent Container.
