How to Identify the Dell Data Security Server Front End Version

Knowing the version of the Dell Data Security (formerly Dell Data Protection) server front end allows an administrator to:

• Identify known issues
• Understand workflow changes
• Verify system requirements

Affected Products:

• Dell Security Management Server
• Dell Data Protection | Enterprise Edition Server

Affected Operating Systems:

• Windows

Versioning can be determined through the:

• Installer
• Windows user interface (UI)

Installer

1. Extract the Security Management Server .zip.
2. Go to [LOCATION]\Security Management Server\x64.
   Note: [LOCATION] = Location of the extracted .zip file
3. Right-click setup.exe and then select Properties.
   
4. Click the Details tab.
   
5. Record the Product version. In the example, the Product version is 9.9.2.
   
   Note: The version of the file may differ from the above screenshot.

Windows

1. As an administrator, right-click the Windows start menu and then click Run.
   
2. In the Run UI, type appwiz.cpl and then press OK.
   
3. In Programs and Features, locate Dell Security Management Server x64.
   
   Note: Some versions of the server may say Dell Enterprise Server instead of Dell Security Management Server.
4. Record the Version. In the example, the product version is 10.2.3.
   
   Note: The version may differ from the above screenshot.
