解密代理程式會嘗試掃過磁碟上的所有檔案和資料夾，如果遇到 受保護的 檔案或資料夾，可能會停止解密。在這種情況下，篩選器級別驅動程式可能會阻止訪問某些資料夾和檔，這將阻止解密代理能夠掃描這些檔的加密狀態並在必要時對其進行解密。如果發生這種情況，解密代理程式將不會完成解密掃掠的處理，且 Dell Encryption 驅動程式也不會解除安裝。

此行為沒有補救措施。想要解密端點的客戶必須移除會建立受保護檔案和資料夾的軟體，才能完成解密。解密完成後，軟體即可重新安裝至端點。
