How to reduce excessive inactive metrics using data retention policy in SRM

For example:
On an Additoinal Backend (ADB) apg 4 database was found to have the issue. To help with the inactive metric cleanup on ABE, apg 4 database, navigate to Administration > Physical Overview > Additional BackEnd > APG-Backend Instance apg 4.
Under the APG-Backend – apg4 tab, scroll down:
Expand on the Configuration Files:
Find the conf/config.xml and change the retention period for keeping inactive metrics to something like “60d”:
Save the changes and wait a day before reverting the changes mentioned here. Similarly, you may do the same to the other APG instances if you like. This brings your metric count down.
