NVP vProxy — noções básicas sobre os níveis e tamanhos de backup de VMs do VMware exibidos no NetWorker
Resumo: Este artigo fornece uma visão geral de como os níveis e tamanhos de backup de máquina virtual (VM) da VMware são relatados no NetWorker.
Instruções
O NetWorker é compatível com os seguintes níveis de backup para VMs VMware:
- Full (Completo): É feito o backup de toda a VM.
- Incremental: Somente as alterações desde backups completos ou incrementais anteriores são gravadas no disco. O VMware Change Block Tracking (CBT) calcula os dados incrementais.
- Ignorar: Nenhum backup é realizado.
- Somente registros: Usado somente para backups SQL que são realizados com
MSVMAPPAGENT. Usado apenas para fazer backup dos logs de transações do banco de dados.
O nível de backup é definido na ação de backup:
Sintético virtual completo:
O NetWorker só dá suporte a backups diretamente para um dispositivo de disco do Data Domain; uma vez lá, os dados podem ser clonados em fita, Cloud Boost ou outros dispositivos compatíveis. Isso também significa que os dados devem ser clonados (copiados) de volta para um dispositivo Data Domain para realizar as recuperações.
Como o backup é realizado no Data Domain, o backup resultante no dispositivo de destino é um novo backup completo, independentemente do nível de backup realizado. O NetWorker usa a tecnologia de backups sintéticos virtuais do Data Domain para criar um backup sintético completo. Isso significa que qualquer backup pode ser usado para uma restauração de imagem completa, se necessário. Como todos os backups são "sintéticos virtuais completos", o NetWorker oferece suporte ao agendamento de backups "incrementais permanentes" para VMs. No entanto, o primeiro backup de qualquer VM é realizado como o nível "Full".
Monitoramento:
No NetWorker, os níveis de backup da VM aparecem como nível "full" independentemente do nível de backup agendado. Por exemplo, a janela de monitoramento do NetWorker Management Console (NMC) mostra:

Tamanho do backup da VM:
Independentemente do uso de nsrcapinfo ou mminfo , os backups da VM sempre exibem o tamanho total provisionado da VM no VMware. Ela não reflete o volume de dados armazenados em um backup incremental. Por exemplo, uma VM mostra um espaço provisionado de 100 GB no VMware:

No NetWorker, há uma discrepância no tamanho da VM exibido por nsrcapinfo ou mminfo quando comparado ao tamanho da VM exibido no VMware.

No VMware, o tamanho da VM está em kilo binário (1024 bytes); no NetWorker, ele é mostrado em kilo métrico (1000 bytes) do KiB. O quilo binário está em unidades de KiB, MiB, GiB, TiB e assim por diante. As unidades de quilo métrico estão em KB, MB, GB, B e assim por diante.
O tamanho corresponde ao que é relatado no VMware ao converter o tamanho do saveset de uma VM de bytes para kilobytes binários.
Execute o seguinte comando mminfo com uma coluna sumsize . A coluna sumsize expandida mostra o tamanho provisionado em bytes, em vez do tamanho na unidade convertida.

O NetWorker exibe a unidade Bytes. Os bytes devem ser convertidos em uma unidade de quilo binário (GiB) para corresponder ao VMware:
Size_in_Bytes / 1024 = KiB / 1024 = MiB / 1024 = GiB

O tamanho é uma correspondência de quase 1:1 entre o NetWorker e o VMware uma vez convertido em quilo binário.
NetWorker 19.9.0 e versões posteriores:

mminfo relatório para um saveset mostra os "Bytes alterados" de cada disco de máquina virtual VMware (VMDK) na VM. Isso representa o volume de dados armazenados em backup no saveset especificado.
- Obtenha o SSID de um backup de VM:

Os logs de sessão também são armazenados no vProxy, em: /opt/emc/vproxy/runtime/logs/recycle/vbackupd/
Nota: A opção DiskStats é um valor de estatísticas de disco arredondado para cima. O valor mostrado é arredondado para a próxima unidade mais próxima. No exemplo acima, é GiB. As informações em ChangedBytes nos logs de sessão ou no resultado de
mminfo informam o número exato de bytes que foram enviados durante o backup.
Em vez de analisar os arquivos de log um por um, é possível usar os comandos do sistema operacional (grep/Select-String) para listar o Total DiskStats, ou o total de estatísticas de disco, por sessão de backup de VM. O tamanho exibido pode ajudar a determinar o volume de dados enviados durante o backup da VM.
- Os logs de política do servidor do NetWorker seguem o rodízio do jobsdb(padrão de 72 horas); Depois que esse tempo passar, os registros de backup serão removidos do servidor.
- Os logs da sessão de backup do vProxy não seguem o rodízio do jobsdbe residem no vProxy por semanas/meses, dependendo da atividade do vProxy e do uso de espaço.
- Essas informações também exibem o throughput da sessão de backup.
