The error message below shows when reviewing the cpbackup log /usr/local/avamar/var/client/cpbackup-<cptag>-<wid>.log:

[Tue May 26 08:05:14 2026] Execute output:

原因

In this instance, it was found that the root server password (root internal account, not the root OS) was using $ character.

The Avamar 19.12 Administration Guide (Server Administration -> Change server passwords and OpenSSH keys) states: The password must contain alphanumeric characters and any of the following special characters: Underscore ( _ ) period (.) dash (-)

NOTE: The Avamar Administration Guide is being updated only in version 19.12. Earlier versions may show inconsistencies. Therefore, always use the Avamar 19.12 Administration Guide.

解析度

Run the change-passwords script and change the password, following the rules set out in the Avamar 19.12 Administration Guide.
