Troubleshooting no power issues

Steps

  1. Swap the AC power cable with a known-good power cable.
    If the system works with a known-good AC power cable, replace the power cable. (optional).
  2. Reset the power supply.
    1. Verify that the power source is working properly by connecting a device that draws a similar amount of power.
  3. Reseat the SP suitcase into the chassis.
  4. Replace the power supply.
    The server does not turn on by using the front the ear node.
  5. Ensure the proper power is going to the chassis.
  6. Ensure all power supplies are firmly seated, power cables are connected, and both power supplies are operating.
  7. Turn on the server by using the power button.

Next steps

If the server is turned on, do the following checks (optional):
  • Reseat the power cable from the Interposer Extender to the system board and test.
  • Reseat the cables from the mid-plane to the corresponding ear board and test.
  • If the server does not turn on by using ear board, replace the ear board, fan controller board, mid-planes, and cables.
