Removing the Processor Heat-Sink

Steps

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery
    2. bottom door
    3. keyboard trim
    4. keyboard
    5. optical drive
    6. hard drive
    7. palm rest
    8. processor fan
    9. heatsink
  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Loosen the captive screws that secure the heat-sink processor to the computer. [1, 2, 3, 4]
    2. Lift up and remove the heat-sink processor from the computer.
