Removing the Display-Hinge Brackets

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory

    4. hard-drive assembly

    5. keyboard trim

    6. keyboard

    7. palmrest

  3. Remove the screws that secure the display-hinge brackets to the back of the computer. Figure displaying how to remove the screws that secure the display-hinge caps at the back of the computer.
  4. Open the display and perform the following steps:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the display-hinge brackets to the front of the computer [1].
    2. Pull the display-hinge brackets to remove from the computer [2]. Figure displaying how to remove the display-hinge cap from the computer.
