Removing the SmartCard Reader Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. base cover

    2. battery

    3. memory

    4. keyboard trim

    5. keyboard

    6. palmrest

  3. Perform the following steps:
    1. Disconnect the SmartCard reader board cable from the USH board [1] [2].
    2. Peel the cable to release from the adhesive [3].Figure displaying how to disconnect the SmartCard reader cable and how to peel the cable to release it from the adhesive.
  4. Release the SmartCard reader board. To release the SmartCard reader board:
    1. Remove the screws that secure the SmartCard-reader board to the palmrest [1].

  5. Remove the SmartCard reader board from the palmrest.Figure displaying how to remove the SmartCard reader from the palmrest.
