Removing the display panel
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Enter the service mode.
- Remove the microSD-card.
- Remove the SIM card tray for 4G LTE enabled systems.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the WLAN card.
- Remove the WWAN card for 4G LTE enabled systems.
- Remove the I/O board cable.
- Remove the display assembly.
- Remove the display bezel.
About this task
NOTE:The display panel is pre-assembled with the display brackets as a single service part. Do not pull and release the Stretch Release (SR) Tapes from the display panel and separate the brackets from the display panel.
The following images indicate the location of the display panel and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the six (M2.5x3) and two (M2.5x3) screws that secure the left and right hinge brackets in place.
- Gently flip over the display panel.
- Peel the adhesive tape, open the latch and disconnect the display cable from the connector on the display panel.
- Lift and remove the display panel from the display assembly.
